Trade Advisers is a consulting, research and training firm that specialises in international trade policy negotiations and practice. We advise businesses on the technical, strategic and operational aspects of international trade agreements and Brexit.

The backgrounds of the company’s founders have been in the trade development field over the past 40 years. We have at our service a pool of international trade specialists with wide-ranging experience of the general and specific aspects of modern trade agreements. Many of our specialists are practitioners who have led and negotiated trade agreements on behalf of their governments throughout the world.

Our Current Brexit Work

We are advising Enterprise Ireland, InterTradeIreland and other clients on Brexit and the practical implications for their businesses. Our clients come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from SMEs to FTSE100 companies and in diverse industries. Studies to date have predominantly focused on the no deal scenario. Subjects covered include:

• Tariff codes and rates,

• Non-tariff barriers to trade,

• Currency,

• Customs procedures and paperwork,

• Movement of people,

• Diversification strategies to identify future markets.

Our Process

We begin work immediately, quickly agreeing the Terms of Reference. We recommend visiting you at your offices. This helps us to better understand your set-up, and to discuss your needs. We will then produce a draft report, return to discuss this with you, update the report as necessary and send you a finalised version.
